Thank you for your insightful commentary on Bernard Monshin.I have recently learned I am related so to see your video has made it all come alive. Are you able to share the names of the band members I would be especially keen on Monty Monshin violinist. Sincere gratitude Fiona
Hi. I love and am glad I have found your website. I am a little surprised you have no mention or coverage of Eric Winstone and his Orchestra? He was a regular BBC Briadcast Orchestra for almost 30 years. The last being on BBC Radio One in 1971. I look forward to hearing from you. Chris Chapmam
I noticed that you posted some footage of Aveley and Newham Band at Regents Park on Sunday 13th August 2023. I was playing principle euphonium with them and was wondering if you recording the rest of the concert. If so is it possible to send me a DVD of our performance?
Some years ago you kindly sent me a DVD of my former Band the Grenadier Guards playing in St James' Park.
Thank you for the work you have put into these programmes, it gladens my heart to be able to listen to proper music without adverts and banging drums. I am fr om Scotland and came hear in 1965. While I lived there, my parents always had this type of music, it was relaxing. I will continue to come on hear often. Thank you again. Bye the way, I am 81 years young.
Sent you an email before i found the guest book but will post it here as well.
Hi Brian. Just to let you know i appreciate the work you have done with light music in the UK. I am from Australia and although our broadcasting system with government and commercial stations is very good i have always been fascinated with the BBC style of the past, not so much the recent stuff. To get all this music together is an amazing effort and i like to listen to it. Mostly off air recordings. were they from FM as the quality is very good?,although the Long wave and AM were very good also before they cut the bandwidth. When ever i go to the UK i have a listen to LW and MW. Thanks a lot.
